When I was 13 my dad took my brother and I to see The Fifth Element. That movie changed my life – to be more specific, the fashion coupled with adventure and overt future-sex did. From that afternoon on I had a crush on stick-thin, strong women, and fucked up, amazing sci-fi fashion. Even thinking about it now gives me an awkward up-tuck. Needless to say it was a very quite car ride home all those years ago but I can’t change how I feel.
This collection by Simon Preen, whether intentional or not, perfectly captures that now 15 year inflation with futuristic-forwardthinking strips of cloth brought together in such a way as to evoke a wicked sense of mischief in the viewer (and I should hope, in the wearer as well).
Find him on ASOS here.
EDIT: Oh shit, I just realized Simon Preen designed the costumes for Jessie J ‘Heartbeats’ tour.
You know what? I’m fine with that.
