Brett Isaacoff runs Dayvan Zombear, one of my favorite and I think one of the more “prestigious” download sites for musicians of a more progressive turn of mind regarding intellectual property rights. Building on that success, he’s recently unveiled a cassette label – called DZ Tapes – with a kickstarter funded mixtape with new tracks from the above, bearing out the notion that the same exceptional, discriminating taste that populated his download site will be animating his record label’s devotion “to publishing lesser known works through the pocket-sized, nostalgically-tactile analog cassette tape medium.”
Contribute to the kickstarter here and check out a handful of previews on Isaacoff’s soundcloud.
