I’ve really been loving Shadows of the Empire since Corey, aka, TOBOGGAN sent it our way, and not least for the Star Wars reference. It’s the second release from both TOBOGGAN and The Villa, a new Canadian music collective that also claims our very own Ryan Hemsworth among its members (more on that connection soonish). At six tracks and a just under fourteen minute track time, it’s a fairly compact EP of electronic hip-hop that nicely expands on the soulful beat-making that Ryan’s busy nailing, helping us form a pretty all-over good feeling about The Villa’s growing roster.
