I spent a good 3 1/2 years living in Seoul, S. Korea and have grown quite fond of the K-Pop that’s come out of it. Recently, with the huge blow-up of PSY, I’m more than confident than ever that S.Korea has overtaken Japan as THE Asian culture influencer (I spent a few years in Japan as well and just as surprised as you that S.Korea is kicking so much ass right now).
I think S.Korea is just getting wise’d up to their cross-cultural potential, with Glen Check (글렌체크) totally optimising his potential to breach the oceans with his Justice-like, all-English (a rarity) electronic K-Pop.
