Kate Shaw

Kate Shaw hails from Sydney, Australia and now splits her time between New York And Melbourne. Shaw creates otherworldly landscapes using paint pours comprised of acrylic paint, inks and mediums in beautiful, vibrant colours, which are then cut and reassembled as collages. Airbrushing is used for skylines and water effects.

Shaw’s work re-interprets notions of what constitutes landscape painting, both within an art historical context and a contemporary social context, her art exploring the tensions and dichotomies in both the depiction of the natural world and our relationship to it.
