Pearls Negras – “Make It Last”

Brazilian all-girl rap trio Pearls Negras have announced the release of new single ‘Make It Last’ alongside new UK tour dates and news of a new mixtape.

Hailing from Favela Vidigal in Rio De Janiero, Pearls Negras may be made up of angelic-faced Brazilian teenagers Alice, Jemi and Mari, however the trio’s aggressive lyrical mastery and gnarly bass-heavy favela rhythms serve to reflect the danger and personality of life in Brasil’s post-World Cup favelas.

With support already coming from the likes of I-D, Noisey, Rolling Stone, Dazed, Spin, and Stereogum amongst many others, it’s safe to say that Pearls Negras are shaping up to be the next exciting Brazilian export in the United Kingdom.

Now, the three-piece are back and better than ever with the release of a new video for single ‘Make It Last’, directed by award winning director Ian Pons Jewell. Taken from their sophmore mixtape ‘Nossa Gang ‘ (Our Gang), the band have embarked on a European tour and will be playing two London dates at Birthdays in Dalston and The Old Blue Last this September to coincide with the release.
